The Gutiérrez River is a small river located in the northwestern part of Argentina. It flows through a region called Patagonia, specifically the area known as Comahue. This river is quite short, only about 4 kilometres (2.5 miles) long.

It begins at the northern end of Gutiérrez Lake and flows in a straight line. The river then empties into the Nahuel Huapi Lake.

The Gutiérrez River

The Gutiérrez River is an important natural feature in its area. It helps to divide the city of Bariloche into two parts. This means the river acts like a natural boundary within the city.

Where the River Starts and Ends

The journey of the Gutiérrez River begins at Gutiérrez Lake. This lake is its source, where the river's water first starts to flow. From there, the river travels a short distance, about 4 kilometers. Its path is quite direct and straight. Finally, the river reaches its end point, flowing into the larger Nahuel Huapi Lake.

What the River is Used For

Even though it's a small river, the Gutiérrez River has several uses. One popular activity on the river is fly fishing. This is a special way of fishing where people use lightweight lures that look like insects. The river is also notable because it flows through a military camp. This camp is located in the middle of the river's path.
