György Handel (born March 20, 1959 – died January 16, 2021) was a talented Hungarian footballer. He was known for playing as a forward, scoring many goals for different teams during his career.

György Handel's Football Journey

György Handel started his football journey in Hungary. He played for several different clubs throughout his career. He was known for being a forward, which means his main job was to score goals for his team.

Early Career and Youth Teams

György Handel began playing football when he was young. From 1973 to 1980, he was part of the youth team at Újpesti Dózsa. This is where he learned many of the skills that made him a great player.

Playing for Hungarian Clubs

After his youth years, György Handel joined professional clubs. He played for MTK–VM from 1980 to 1984. During this time, he played in 108 games and scored 32 goals. This showed he was a valuable player.

He then moved to Volán SC for a year, scoring 11 goals in 21 games. In 1985, he played briefly for Siófoki Bányász. He scored 4 goals in 10 matches there.

From 1985 to 1986, he played for Veszprémi SE, where he scored 17 goals in 21 games. This was a very successful period for him. He then joined Rába ETO from 1986 to 1989, playing in 103 games and scoring 29 goals. He returned to Veszprémi SE for another season from 1989 to 1990.

International Experience in Malta

Later in his career, György Handel also played football outside of Hungary. He moved to Malta, an island country in Europe. From 1991 to 1993, he played for Saint Andrews FC.

He then joined Nadur Youngsters F.C. from 1993 to 1995. Here, he scored 14 goals in 15 games, showing he could still score many goals. In 1997, he played for Qormi FC.
