Haile Plantation is a special kind of neighborhood located southwest of Gainesville, in Alachua County, Florida. It's not a city, but a large, planned community. About 2,600 homes are built here across 1,700 acres. It's designed using ideas from New Urbanism, which means it has a mix of homes, shops, and public spaces close together. This makes it easy for people to walk or bike to many places.
Life in Haile Plantation
The heart of Haile Plantation is the Haile Village Center. This area has shops, restaurants, and places for people to gather. It's like a small downtown for the community. Most people who live in Haile Plantation can easily walk to the Village Center.
The community is divided into two main groups for homeowners: the Haile Plantation Homeowners' Association and the Haile Plantation West Homeowners' Association. These groups help manage the neighborhood and keep it a great place to live.
Besides the Village Center, Haile Plantation also has the Publix Market Square. This area has a big Publix supermarket and other businesses. There's even a UF Health clinic, which is a place where people can go for medical care.
History of Haile Plantation
