Harun Karadeniz was an important Turkish activist and writer. He was born in 1942 in Armutlu, Alucra, and passed away in Istanbul in 1975. He became a well-known leader for students in Turkey during the late 1960s. He was also the head of the Student Union at Istanbul Technical University.

Harun Karadeniz was a key figure among students in the 1960s. He helped organize a big student protest in 1968. This protest was against the American Navy's Sixth Fleet coming to the Port of Istanbul. He worked with other student leaders like Deniz Gezmiş to make their voices heard.
Challenges and Legacy
Harun Karadeniz became ill with cancer while he was held after a military change in Turkey in 1971. He did not get the medical help he needed at first. This caused his illness to get worse. Even after getting treatment later in London, he sadly passed away at 33 years old.

Harun Karadeniz wrote several important books. His most famous book is Olaylı Yıllar ve Gençlik. This title means "Eventful Years and Youth." It tells his own story from 1968.
