Heather B. Gardner (born November 13, 1970), who is known by her stage name Heather B., is an American rapper, actress, and radio host. She first became famous as a member of the hip hop group Boogie Down Productions. She then became a star on The Real World: New York, the very first season of MTV's reality show The Real World in 1992.

A Star on TV and in Music
From February to May 1992, Heather B. was filmed for The Real World: New York. This was the first season of MTV's new type of show called "reality television." The show followed the lives of several young people living together in a New York City loft.
On the show, Heather B. was shown as a talented hip-hop artist. She was part of the group Boogie Down Productions and was working hard to start her solo career. Viewers got to see her in the studio recording her first album. MTV described her as having a lot of drive and dedication. She was also known for making friends easily and always speaking her mind.
Launching a Music Career
After her time on TV, Heather B. focused on her music. She was part of the rap group Boogie Down Productions and later signed a record deal with Pendulum Records in 1995.
In 1996, she released her first album, Takin' Mine. One of the album's songs, "All Glocks Down," was a powerful song against gun violence. It was played often on the radio. Her next single, "If Headz Only Knew," was also a success.
In 1997, Heather B. signed with a new record label, MCA Records. The next year, she released the single "Do You," which got a lot of attention on both TV and radio. In 2002, she released her second album, Eternal Affairs. It was well-liked by critics and featured work from famous producers like Pete Rock and DJ Premier.
Acting and Radio Host
Besides music, Heather B. has also worked as an actress. She had a small part in the 1995 movie Dead Presidents. She also appeared in the 2003 movie The Wedding Video, which was directed by her former Real World castmate Norman Korpi.
Since 2012, Heather B. has been a co-host on the Sirius Satellite Radio show Sway in the Morning with Sway Calloway. In 2016, the two appeared as themselves on the TV show Luke Cage. She has also appeared in the 2018 movie Death Wish and the 2021 film B-Boy Blues.
Personal Life
Heather B. is married to E. Gray, a fellow hip-hop artist known by his professional name, Horse. He was a member of the group Bravehearts. In a 2010 interview, she shared that they met on a subway train and had been married for nine years at the time. She said they live a normal life as a family.
