Hedvig Jacobine Henriette Collin (1880–1964) was a talented Danish artist. She was a painter, an illustrator, and a writer. Hedvig Collin painted both people and landscapes. But she is best known for drawing pictures for children's books. She illustrated many books in Denmark. She also wrote and drew for books in English. Some of her famous English books include Two Viking Boys (1949) and Young Hans Christian Andersen (1955).

Hedvig Collin was born on May 27, 1880. Her birthplace was Nakskov, a town in Denmark. Her father was a photographer. Her mother's name was Ottilia Frederikke Christiane Bloch.
Hedvig started her art journey in Copenhagen. She went to the Arts and Crafts School for Women. Later, she studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts. There, she became friends with the famous writer Karen Blixen. Hedvig finished her studies in 1909. She then traveled to learn more. She studied art in Paris, France, at the École des Beaux-Arts. She also studied in Berlin, Germany, at the Kunstgewerbeschule.
