Playing Career: Hiromasa Suguri's Journey on the Field

Hiromasa Suguri was born in Fukuroi, Shizuoka, Japan, on July 29, 1976. After finishing high school, he started his professional football career in 1995. He joined Honda FC, a team in the Japan Football League.

Early Success and Moving Up

Suguri quickly became an important player for Honda FC. He played many games as a midfielder. In 1996, his team won the championship in the Japan Football League. This was a great start to his career!

In 1998, Suguri moved to Consadole Sapporo. This team had just been promoted to the J1 League, which is Japan's top football league. He played many matches in his first year with them. However, in 1999, the team was moved down to the J2 League.

New Teams and Challenges

In June 2000, Suguri joined Verdy Kawasaki. He didn't play much for this team. In 2001, he moved to Omiya Ardija, another J2 League club. He played for two seasons there but still didn't get a lot of playing time.

In 2003, Suguri moved to Sagan Tosu. He played many games for them, often coming in as a substitute. In September 2005, he went on loan to Avispa Fukuoka. He helped Avispa Fukuoka finish second in the J2 League, which meant they were promoted to the J1 League for the next season.

Retirement from Playing

After his loan, Suguri returned to Sagan Tosu in 2006. He continued to play for them until the end of the 2007 season. After that, he decided to retire from playing professional football.

Managerial Career: Leading Teams to Victory

After his playing days, Hiromasa Suguri decided to become a football manager. He worked hard and earned the Japan Football Association's official S-Class coach license in 2021. This is a special license that allows him to manage top-level teams.

Managing Iwaki FC

On December 9, 2021, Suguri was chosen to be the manager of Iwaki FC. He took charge of the team as they prepared to play in the J3 League for the next season.

He had a very successful first year as a manager. On November 6, 2022, Suguri led Iwaki FC to an amazing achievement. They won the J3 League championship for the first time in their history! This win also meant that Iwaki FC was promoted to the J2 League for the very first time.

However, in June 2023, his contract with Iwaki FC was ended.
