Hiroshi Morita (森田 浩史, Morita Hiroshi, born May 18, 1978) is a former professional Japanese football player. He was known for playing as a forward, which means he was usually trying to score goals for his team.

A Young Footballer's Start

Hiroshi Morita was born in Kumamoto Prefecture, Japan, on May 18, 1978. He loved football from a young age. After finishing his studies at the University of Teacher Education Fukuoka, he began his professional football journey.

Joining Sagan Tosu

In 2001, Hiroshi Morita joined Sagan Tosu, a team in the J2 League. The J2 League is Japan's second-highest professional football division. He quickly showed his talent. In his first season, he played in many matches. By 2002, he became a regular player for the team, meaning he was often in the starting lineup.

Moving to Albirex Niigata

In 2003, Morita moved to another J2 League team, Albirex Niigata. This team had a fantastic year! They won the J2 League championship in 2003. This win meant they were promoted to the J1 League, which is Japan's top football division, for the 2004 season. Even though the team did well, Morita didn't get to play as much as he hoped.

Success with Omiya Ardija

In July 2004, Hiroshi Morita made another move. He joined Omiya Ardija, which was also a J2 League club at the time. This move was a great decision for him! After joining, he played in almost every game for the rest of the 2004 season. He scored 10 goals, helping his new team finish in second place. This meant Omiya Ardija also got promoted to the J1 League!

Morita continued to play many matches for Omiya Ardija in the J1 League. He was an important part of the team for several years, even when the team had tough seasons.

Later Career and Retirement

In 2009, Morita moved to Ventforet Kofu, another J2 League team, where he continued to play regularly. In 2010, he tried playing football in Thailand for a club called Thai Port. Later that year, he returned to Japan. He joined V-Varen Nagasaki, a team in the Japan Football League. This league is just below the professional J-League divisions. Hiroshi Morita decided to retire from professional football at the end of the 2010 season.

Career Highlights

Throughout his career, Hiroshi Morita played in 247 league matches and scored 58 goals. He was a dedicated player who helped his teams achieve promotion to Japan's top football league multiple times.
