Hitoshi Matsushima (松島 仁, Matsushima Hitoshi, born April 30, 1980) is a former Japanese football player. He played as a forward, which means he was one of the players who tried to score goals for his team.
Hitoshi's Football Journey
Hitoshi Matsushima was born in Obihiro, Hokkaido on April 30, 1980. After finishing high school, he started his professional football career in 1999. He joined a team called Shimizu S-Pulse, which played in the top Japanese league, J1 League.
During his time at Shimizu S-Pulse, Hitoshi played in a few matches. However, he did not get to play very often. In 2001, he moved to another team, Ventforet Kofu. This team played in the J2 League, which is the second-highest league in Japan.
At Ventforet Kofu, Hitoshi played in many more games. He often came into the game as a substitute forward. This means he would come off the bench to replace another player during a match. He played for two seasons with Ventforet Kofu. Hitoshi Matsushima decided to retire from playing professional football at the end of the 2002 season.
