Hitoshi Tomishima (冨嶋 均, Tomishima Hitoshi, born June 1, 1964) is a former Japanese football player. He played as a forward during his career.

Hitoshi Tomishima's Early Life and Career

Hitoshi Tomishima was born in Kumamoto Prefecture, Japan, on June 1, 1964. He loved football from a young age. He played for Kyushu Gakuin High School from 1980 to 1982. After high school, he continued to play football while studying at Fukuoka University from 1983 to 1986.

Joining Yokohama Flügels

After finishing university, Hitoshi Tomishima joined a professional football club in 1987. This club was called All Nippon Airways at the time. It later became known as Yokohama Flügels. The team was part of the Japan Soccer League Division 2.

Tomishima quickly became an important player for the team. He played in many matches as a forward. His skills helped the club succeed. In 1988, his team was promoted to Division 1 of the Japan Soccer League. This was a big step up for the club and for Tomishima.

Success and League Changes

Hitoshi Tomishima continued to play for Yokohama Flügels. He helped them achieve great things. In the 1988-89 season, his team was the runner-up in the Japan Soccer League. This showed how strong the team had become.

A major change happened in Japanese football in 1992. The old Japan Soccer League was replaced by a new, exciting league called the J1 League. Yokohama Flügels became one of the founding teams of this new league.

In 1993, Tomishima and his team won the Emperor's Cup. This is a very important football tournament in Japan. Winning it was a huge achievement for Yokohama Flügels and for Tomishima.

Later Career and Retirement

After the J1 League started, Tomishima's chances to play in matches became fewer. In 1994, he decided to move to a different club. He joined Fujieda Blux, which was part of the Japan Football League. This club later changed its name to Fukuoka Blux.

Even though he joined a new team, Tomishima did not get to play in any matches during his time there. He stayed with the club until the end of the 1995 season. After that, he decided to retire from professional football.

Throughout his career, Hitoshi Tomishima played in 101 league matches. He scored 19 goals in those games. He was a dedicated player who contributed to Japanese football during an important time of change.
