His Early Life and Learning
Homero Francesch started learning piano in Uruguay. His first teacher was Santiago Baranda Reyes.
In 1967, he received a special award called a scholarship. This scholarship was from the German Academic Exchange Service. It helped him study music in Munich, Germany. There, he learned from famous piano teachers. Their names were Hugo Steurer and Ludwig Hoffmann.
Playing New Music
Homero Francesch has played new music by many modern composers for the very first time. One important piece he premiered was "Tristan" by Hans Werner Henze.
Famous Recordings
He has also made many recordings of his music. These include all of Béla Bartók's "Mikrokosmos" pieces. He also recorded Igor Stravinsky's "Les Noces." For this recording, he worked with other great musicians. These included Leonard Bernstein, Martha Argerich, Cyprien Katsaris, and Krystian Zimerman.
