Over the years, this building has had many different jobs! Besides being a hotel, it was also a restaurant where people could eat. It even served as a furniture store and a thrift shop. Later, parts of the building were used as apartments for people to live in.
Hotel Western Today: A New Purpose
On September 6, 1996, the Hotel Western was officially added to the National Register of Historic Places. This was a big step to recognize its importance.
Today, the building is being carefully fixed up. This process is called restoration. Soon, the Hotel Western will open its doors again, but this time as a museum. It will be a place where visitors can learn about its history and the history of Nyssa.
