Howard Johnson's Music Journey

Howard Johnson began his singing career in Miami, Florida. He performed in local bars and clubs. A guitarist and producer named Sandy Torano discovered him. Sandy Torano had worked with famous groups like the Commodores. He chose Howard to be a new singer.

Howard started recording music in 1977. He was part of a group called Niteflyte. They released two albums. Later, A&M Records signed Howard as a solo artist.

His first solo album, Keepin' Love New, came out in 1982. It was produced by talented people like Kashif. Both "So Fine" and the album's title song did very well, especially in the UK.

Howard released two more albums with A&M Records. These were Doin' It My Way (1983) and The Vision (1985). Famous producers like The System and Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis helped with these albums. In 1986, Howard sang a ballad called "Perfect Timing" with Donna Allen.

In 1989, Howard returned to A&M Records. This time, he was part of a duo called Johnson & Branson with Regis Branson. Howard did not release new albums during the 1990s. He came back in the early 2000s, working with Regis Branson again. They released Packed and Waitin' in 2002. About ten years later, Howard's old albums from A&M were re-released.
