Howard Williams Johnson, born on November 28, 1956, in Miami, Florida, is an American singer. He is known for his soul and disco music. Howard also started a music group called Niteflyte. In the 1980s, two of his songs became very popular on the dance music charts. His song "So Fine" was number one for a week in 1982. Another song, "Let This Dream Be Real," reached number 19 in 1983.

Howard Johnson's Music Journey
Howard Johnson began his singing career in Miami, Florida. He performed in local clubs and bars. A guitarist and producer named Sandy Torano discovered him. Sandy Torano had worked with famous groups like the Commodores. He chose Howard to be a new singer for a group.
Starting with Niteflyte
Howard's recording career began in 1977. He joined a group called Niteflyte, which signed with Ariola Records. The group released two albums. After Niteflyte, Howard Johnson signed a solo contract with A&M Records.
Solo Success and Collaborations
In 1982, Howard released his first solo album, Keepin' Love New. This album was produced by talented musicians like Kashif, Paul Laurence Jones, and Morris Brown. Both "So Fine" and the album's title song, "Keepin' Love New," did very well on the music charts.
Howard released two more albums with A&M Records. These were Doin' It My Way in 1983 and The Vision in 1985. He also recorded a song called "Perfect Timing" with singer Donna Allen in 1986. In 1989, Howard returned to A&M as part of a duo called Johnson & Branson, with Regis Branson.
Later Years in Music
Howard Johnson did not release new albums during the 1990s. However, he returned to music in the early 2000s. He worked again with Regis Branson. In 2002, they released an album called Packed and Waitin' in Japan. Around 2012, Howard's older albums from A&M Records were re-released.
