Ibn Khalaf al-Murādī was a clever engineer from Al-Andalus, which was a part of Spain ruled by Muslims long ago in the 11th century. His full name in Arabic was Abū Jaʿfar ʿAlī ibn Khalaf al-Murādī. He lived during a time when many new ideas and inventions were being created.
Al-Murādī wrote a very important book called Kitāb al-asrār fī natā'ij al-afkār. This means The Book of Secrets in the Results of Thoughts. It was like a secret handbook filled with amazing inventions. This book was even copied and used by King Alfonso VI of León and Castile in Christian Spain during the same century.
