This event got attention from news channels across the country. However, the mayor of Detroit, Mike Duggan, asked for the goats to be removed. This was because a city rule did not allow farm animals within the city limits.
Awards for Their Cheese
The cheeses made at Idyll Farms have won many awards. They won "Best of Class" at the World Championship Cheese Contest in 2016. They also won several awards at the American Cheese Society North American Competition. This happened in 2013, 2014, and 2016.
Their cheeses were also called a "Best Artisanal Cheese" by Food & Wine magazine in 2016. Men’s Journal magazine also named their cheese one of "The 49 Best American Cheeses."
