Description: Second Empire-style row houses, located at 2000–2008 17th Street, N.W., in the U Street Corridor of Washington, D.C. Built in 1875, the homes are contributing properties to the Strivers' Section Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985. Frederick Douglass built 2000, 2002, and 2004 17th Street, N.W. His son inherited the properties and lived at 2002 17th Street, N.W., from 1877 until his death in 1908.
