Description: Rumeli Hisari, the Turkish castle on the European side of the Bosporus. It was built by the Ottoman Sultan Mehmed II in 1452 in preparation for the conquest of Constantinople. The bridge seen above in the foreground is the Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge, and the bridge in the distance is the Bosporus Bridge. Both bridges span the Bosporus and thus connect Asia and Europe.
