Description: COLORS FOR THE SEVENTH REGIMENT The boys of the Seventh, who are now camping in San Francisco, will soon have something to be proud of—a stand or flagof the colors of the regiment presented to them by a number of their admirers and friends ln this city. Ever since the Seventh was called into service the employes of the People's store have thought seriously of presenting the regimental colors to the boys. Then It became debatable whether they should give It to the departed ones or to those who were left behind, after they have become reorganized. It was decided to present It to what Is now known as the Seventh regiment, California United States Volunteer Infantry. The flag Is of silk, about 5x6 feet In width and length, respectively. The body Is of blue, with a yellow silk fringe border. In tho center Is the coat-of-arms of the State of California. Long tassels hang by the side, supported by the pole. The ensemble is beautiful, and the gift is worthy of the employes of the People's store and of the brave hoys who ure to receive it. The flag was expressed to Adjt. Gen. Barrett, at the California hotel, San Franclco, yesterday, and it is expected to reach him tomorrow morning. -Los Angeles Herald, 15 May 1898
