Description: The A. I. Nammm & Son Department Store building at 450-458 Fulton Avenue at the corner of Hoyt Street in the Civic Center area of Brooklyn, New York City was built in 1924-25 and 1929-29 and was designed by Robert D. Kohn and Charles Butler. Adolph I. Namm moved his store to Brooklyn from the Ladies' Miles in Manhattan in 1885, and had a building constructed on this site in 1891, which was replaced by this building in two phases. The store closed in 1952 and the building was acquired in 1957 by Abraham & Strauss. The building was dersignated a NYC landmark in 2005. (Source: Guide to NYC Landmarks (4th ed.)
