Description: The Mayna Treanor Avent Cabin in Elkmont, Great Smoky Mountains National Park, in East Tennessee. This cabin, which Nashville artist Mayna Avent used as a studio in the 1920's and 1930's, was built around 1850 by the Ownby family. It is located just off the Jakes Creek Trail, a mile or so above Elkmont. The cabin is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
