Description: Bear hunter and mountain Thomas "Big Tom" Wilson (1825–1909), photographed by the U.S. Forest Service. Wilson was a guide in the Black Mountains area of North Carolina. "Big Tom," a summit near Mount Mitchell, is named for him.
