Description: Incomplete gabbroic saddle quern with worn central reservoir and built up edges through use as a quern or grain mortar. One edge of the quern has been lost and may have been dressed in more recent times in order to re-use it for building material etc. Similar to other saddle querns found around the county on Bronze Age sites, such as Trethellan, Newquay, where several varied examples were found, the closest in form illustrated in Nowakowski (1991) on page 144, Fig.59, No.93 from round house 142/3022.
