Description: White Pottery Gui (pitcher) Shandong Longshan Culture, late phase of the Dawenkou culture. Late Neolithic Period (ca. 2500 - 2000 B.C.) Excavated at Rizhao, Shandong Province "White pottery" is the name for a type of pottery which features a white body and surface. This pitcher was used for storing and boiling liquid, and its shape indicates that pottery making during the Late Neolithic Period was surprisingly skilled.
