Image: Captain Kennedy Flag
Description: Captain Kennedy In 1716 Kennedy started out as a crew member of John Martel, who was deposed for cruelty and Kennedy was chosen in his place. In 1717, while being chased by pirate hunters, Kenndy's ship ran aground off of the Virgin Islands and was burned. The crew abandoned ship and hid in the woods of St. Croix. Captain Kennedy also flew the standard death's head suggesting that he was a member of the Flying Gang of New Providence, who's members included Hornigold, Leslie & Teach. Captain Kennedy is often confused with Walter Kennedy who at the time was still living in London. The flag incorrectly attributed to Walter Kennedy bears the same symbols as that of Captain Kennedy.
