Description: Sullivan's Saddlery at left, R.A. Maskall and Son's bike shop and garage centre, Williamson's bakery and two storey house right Corner Pennant Hills Road and Church Street (later Marsden Road), Mobbs Hill, Carlingford. Road sign points to Pennant Hills, Parramatta and Dundas. The Carlingford League Bicycle Club held weekly road races [Cumberland Argus and Fruitgrowers Advocate, Sat 20 Nov 1920, p.3] In the 1930s the Carlingford-Parramatta League Cycling Club seems to have superceded the earlier version. The local cycling competition route was from the Fountain on Mobbs Hill to the Dundas Town Hall return (twice) (round trip 3 1/4 miles or approximately 5.2km.
