Description: St Paul's Anglican Church (opened 1850, consecrated 1857) in the background was first known as being in the Pennant Hills district in the colony of New South Wales. The area became known as Carlingford from 1883. The Church was used as a school house until dedicated premises were constructed and occupied in 1872. This photo may date before 1872 which means the head teacher in the photo could possibly be David Thomas or George Molster. The woman in the dark coat to the left rear of the group may then be Mrs Thomas. Information source: Garland, Roger (1983).
