Description: The Plaza Colón of Buenos Aires with the Fuente Monumental on the front and the Casa de Gobierno on the background. The fountain had been ordered to Fonderie d'art Val D'Osne of Paris. French artists Mathurin Moreau and Paul Liénard designed the fountain that had 12 m height and was decorated with Neptunes, naiads, children, figureheads and volutes. The fountain would be later replaced for the statue of Christopher Columbus, being moved to Costanera Sur (in the 1920s) and then to the intersection of de Mayo and 9 de Julio avenues, where it remains nowadays.
