Description: Coat of arms of the Danish town Nyborg based on a 14th century seal. The arms shows the local Nyborg Castle which was a centre of royal power in the middle ages. The star and crescent are symbols of eternity. The head started to appear in seals in the 15th century and has an unknown origin. These are the traditional tinctures of the arms. Following the municipal reform of 2007 the new Nyborg municipality altered the tinctures to be more heraldically correct.
