Description: Confederate experimental submarine of the 1860s, New Orleans. Submarine on display at Spanish Fort amusement park about 1895. (This same submarine was on display at the Presbytere on Jackson Square for most of the 2nd half of the 20th century, and now is at the State Museum in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.) A bit of Bayou St. John can be seen behind the submarine.
