The bomb is made from steel and has four tail fins. The nose cone has a No 7 T fuze attached. A removable nose cone cover is screwed onto the nose. The bomb is painted brown and has a green and red band painted around the bomb casing. Markings - bomb casing - JC CO; 15.8.17. PAT 2 1/8/80/20. Markings - fuze - JC CO LTD 1917. Markings - nose cap - NO 7 T JC CO LTD 1917. Measurements: Bomb diameter: 125 (mm); Bomb length: 620 (mm); Bomb weight: 9 (kg) Summary: 20 pound Cooper aerial bomb used operationally by the Royal Flying Corps during the later period of the First World War on the Western Front.
