Description:  :Red Dougherty apple, cross-sectioned. NFC's description of the apple is: "A coloured sport of Dougherty. Originated in Twyford, Hawkes Bay, New Zealand by C.F. Bixley. Introduced in 1930. Fruits have firm, fine, hard, greenish white flesh with a sweet subacid flavour."
