Description: Diagonal conductive elements, or wires, can be used to form a cylindrical projected capacitance, multi-touch touchscreen, where all the I/O connections are along the opening edge of the cylinder. The use of bi-state or tri-state multiplexing, together with "split" sensing elements, increases the number of unique intersections for a given number of I/O lines. Here, 9 I/Os create 36 unique intersections, whereas 9 standard x/y I/Os would only create 20 intersections. The touch sensing cylinder can be transformed into complex, 3 dimensional shapes, by various means.
