Description: The arms were granted on July 10, 1972. They based on the arms of the former Eiderstedt district. The sailboats (cogs) differ from the old arms in that the plow is a symbol of the former Husum district, the fish is slightly changed and represents the typical herring of the island of Sylt in the former Südtondern district. The bull head is still a symbol for Eiderstedt.
