Description: Set of pen and ink sketches of the Society of Friends annual meeting at Devonshire House, London (May, 1860), bound as booklet. It contains seven drawings, plus front page, by John Joseph Willson (ca.1837-1903), of Leeds, West Riding of Yorkshire, England. Showing second picture: "The Meeting-House yard, Devonshire House. The two figures in the foreground are exact representations of two ancient Friends (the Brothers Bratt) who continued to wear the old Quaker costume of their father's day, and were notable figures at Yearly Meetings." Devonshire House was built in the 1730s to the design of William Kent by the Dukes of Devonshire, embellished in the 19th century (after this picture was drawn), and demolished in the 1920s.
