Description: The Drs. John and Violet Brown House, part of the Riverview Historic District in Kankakee (1917). It is based on a Tudor house that the Browns saw while on a trip to England. Violet Brown worked at the nearby Illinois Eastern Hospital for the Insane, while John was a general practitioner. Violet was also a suffrage advocate. Olivet Nazarene College later purchased the house intended to use it as the home of their president.
