Description: Drumbo Round Tower. Standing in the churchyard of Drumbo Presbyterian Church (see 841376). It is not complete, however, as the top section has been removed or destroyed. Round towers were constructed all over Ireland in the 9th - 12th centuries as belfries and monastic keeps. See 2829904 for other examples from around Ireland (and some elsewhere in the British Isles).
