The east (left) face at about the center of the image includes a brownish-colored storefront at 24-26 South Dubuque Street that housed the Bon Ton Cafe of Etta & Will Englert, who lived upstairs.

There is no copyright data showing on the card, although a printed statement reads: "Made in Germany. Published for C.L. Wieneke, Iowa City, Iowa. 1238"
Author: Caroline "Carrie" L. Wieneke who operated a gift and stationery shop initially with her father in the St. James Hotel building at Clinton Street and Iowa Avenue in downtown Iowa City, which was razed by fire in 1916. She subsequently operated her own store as Arcade Books at 114 Washington Street.
