Description: OLD CHURCH OR BOYCE CHAPEL BUILT IN THE LATE 1850’S WAS THE SITE OF THE SECESSION CONVENTION HELD HERE BY ORDER OF THE LEGISLATURE. THE BUILDING DOES NOT LOOK LIKE A CHURCH AND THIS FACT PLUS THE POSSIBILITY THAT THE CUSTODIAN DIRECTED SHERMAN’S TROOPS TO THE METHODIST CHURCH DOWN THE STREET SAVED IT FROM BEING BURNT
