Description: Easy public access; please, do not collect rocks or fossils at this location. Fencepost limestone outcrop in road cuts along the I-70 (Kansas) frontage road (Avenue B) between exits 219 and 221. Four identifying characteristics are immediately aparent in this view: thickness, the orange central streak, ovoid concretions a couple feet higher, placement of the bed 8–10 feet (2.4–3.0 m) below the crest of the hill. On closer inspection, the thin orange bentonite seam can be found inches below the limestone bed, and the charactestric Inoceramnus, Ammonite, and Belemite fossils can be found in the limestone.
