Description: Justo Sierra was a prominent liberal intellectual who served as Minister of Education between 1902 and 1911. He was responsible for founding the National University of Mexico. Under President Madero, he served as Ambassador of Mexico to Spain and died in Madrid in 1912 while discharging his duties. His body was returned to Mexico and his funeral at the French Pantheon (Panteón Francés) was presided by President Madero and Vice-President Pino Suárez.
