Description: Gold Locality: 813 Pit, Olinghouse District, Washoe County, Nevada, USA (Locality at mindat.org) Size: 4.7 x 4.2 x 3.0 cm. An Olinghouse gold specimen, which features large gold leaves. The leaves reach 6 mm! This piece is covered with scintillating leaves, spinel-twinned gold crystals and gold wires. The gold is etched out of the cream-colored calcite that fills the vugs in the porphyritic host rock. Ex. Scott Kleine Collection.
