Description: Front of the Shelbyville Carnegie Library, located at 309 Eighth Street along U.S. Route 50 in Shelbyville, Kentucky, United States. Built in 1903, it is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Note the gravestones in the foreground: in Shelbyville's early years, this lot was occupied by a church. When the church building was demolished, the cemetery was mostly relocated, but these graves were left in place for an unexplained reason.
