Image: HMS Rothesay (F107) MOD 45139938
Description: HMS Rothesay, a Rothesay class frigate, was built by Yarrow at Scotstoun, and completed in 1960. Seen here in the early 1960's still as-built passing the Royal Yacht with her complement cheering ship. At this point she still has her STAAG twin 40mm A/A mount and both fixed rearward firing and twin trainable 21" torpedo tubes and proves that there was at least one incidence of this weapon fit being applied to Type 12M ships as well as the earlier Whitby's. She was modernised in the late sixties and served worldwide until 1985 when she joined the Dartmouth Training Squadron. She was scrapped in 1988.
