This is to certify, that the following record is present in the register of the Jewish population of the city of Kiev for the year nineteen hundred three / 1903 / part 1, of those born of the male column, #725: "September 18, in Kiev, from father Samuil Ioachimovich Gorovits, who graduated from the physical-mathematical department of St. Vladimir University, and mother Sofia / Sonya / Yakovlevna, a son was born and named "VLADIMIR." Seal of Kiev rabbi. Rabbi / S. Lurie / #3736 Note: the surname Horowitz is spelled Горовиц and pronounced "Gorovits" in Russian.
