Description: I took this photo at the memorial to Irish Seafarers at Memorial Bridge, City Quay, Dublin. This is an annual event, on the third Sunday of November. Sponsored by the Maritime Institute of Ireland http://www.mii.connect.ie Read the sermon (delivered later) at http://www.mii.connect.ie/pictures/sermon.html I release this photo, which I took It is a 20 foot high monolith of Wicklow granite, with the names of 149 seamen who lost their lives on neutral Irish ships during the en:The Emergency 1939-1945. the 200-year-old anchor stands 17 foot tall.
