Description: LMS Diagram 2039 unfitted 12 ton van No.516673 (MoD No.WGB 4167), built by LMS (Wolverton) in 1942, Lot 1317 at the Great Western Society Didcot Railway Centre, 1 May 2005. 800 unfitted such vans were built at Wolverton in 1942-43. BR later fitted vaccuum brakes to many of them. Some, including the one illustrated, went to the WD/MoD. The one illustrated has fully planked sides and doors and corrugated steel ends.
