Description: This is a family portrait photo of Lewis Arthur Hardison that has been colorized. Lewis Hardison was the first Mayor of Santa Paula, CA. He was born in Pennsylvania in 1853 and died in Santa Paula in 1921. He came to California in 1883 to work for Hardison-Stewart Oil Company (later Union Oil of California) as the company’s blacksmith and master mechanic.
