Description: Man wearing a peaked cap and suit riding a motorised bicycle at Mt Buffalo, Victoria, Australia. The bike is labelled Minerva, a Belgian company that produced "Minerva Motocyclettes" between 1900 and 1909, after which they went on to specialise in luxury cars. This model probably dates from around 1903–04. A small internal combustion engine can be seen near the bottom bracket. The engine drives a belt connected to a large gear ring around the outside of the far side of the rear wheel. Converted to digital from negative: glass; 8.5 cm x 9 cm.
