She represented Nepal in Miss Universe 2018 and became the first Miss Nepal to enter in the Semi-Final spot in the Miss Universe. She spent most of her childhood in Gorkha, Nepal and later migrated to the United States to pursue higher education and other opportunities. Manita has completed her Public Health degree and managed her Education and Housing by working in 2 jobs. She has been involved in DAYS FOR GIRLS, PROJECT U and SHE’S THE FIRST foundations. She has been actively working to change the stigmas and obstacles that menstruating women and girls face in Nepal much before her pageantry experience.
