Manita Devkota (Nepali: मनिता देवकोटा) is a model and public health activist. She has roots in both Nepal and the United States. Manita became well-known after winning the Miss Universe Nepal title on April 11, 2018. She then went on to represent Nepal at the Miss Universe 2018 pageant. There, she achieved a remarkable feat by finishing as a Top 10 finalist. This was a historic moment for Nepal in the Miss Universe competition.
Manita Devkota's Journey
Nepal began participating in the Miss Universe pageant in 2017. Manita Devkota was crowned Miss Universe Nepal on April 11, 2018. This was the first time the Miss Universe Nepal title was given out during the main Miss Nepal competition.
On December 17, 2018, Devkota competed in the Miss Universe 2018 pageant. In only Nepal's second year of participation, Manita made it into the Top 10. She was the very first Miss Nepal contestant to reach the semi-finals in the Miss Universe competition. She also won the Miss Universe National Gift Auction in 2018.
